Genna + Vince
ANDAZ Hotel // Ottawa, ONtarIOI wanted to highlight this wedding for a couple of reasons. The first is because Genna and Vince are the best people. Genuine, caring, fun, funny, and madly in love. I absolutely adore them and am forever grateful to be a small part of their story. They are some of the best people I have met during my time photographing weddings and happy to call them friends.
The second reason is because these photos will always be a reminder of such a unique and challenging time in history. There are reminders of COVID life throughout the photos - Masks, speaking shields, social distancing and a reduced guests list. I empathize with all my couples who had to make tough decisions regarding their weddings. Many rescheduled in hopes that normalcy will return in the near future and the wedding can go ahead without compromise. Others went ahead, adhering to restrictions and disappointingly missed some important people for what should be a defining highlight of your life. Genna and Vince made the tough decision to keep their date, make exceptions and adhere to the rules. It certainly wasn’t ideal or easy for them. But honestly, they were nothing but in great spirits and genuinely happy to have (most) of their closest people with them as they officially vowed to share the rest of their lives together. They rolled with it and shared such a beautiful moment in time with everyone there, including myself. I’m very thankful to have met them and very excited to share some photos of their love for each other on their wedding day.
