The Opinicon Resort Autumn Wedding // Chaffey's Locks, Ontario

I was looking forward to this wedding all year. Carly and Corey are such genuine people, and I knew right away that they were my people. They emphasized in our meeting that they were not particularly interested in “posey” portraits. They, instead, valued capturing photos of their family and friends having a good time as much as themselves. They were such a pleasure to hang out with that I knew that their crew was going to be a blast.

They chose the newly renovated and beautiful Opinicon Resort as it offered a place for their family and friends to let loose for an entire weekend. The wedding was the main event but the party was simmering throughout their stay. I showed up on the Saturday to hear some raspy voices and see some people mustering up a second or third wind.

The wedding was a bit soggy. The rain held off until after the ceremony, but family portraits were cut short and the guests retreated to various cottages as Carly and Corey hopped around catching up with everyone. While I was able to convince them to take a stroll for 15 minutes to get some portraits I didn’t do anything different than usual.

As you can see from the photos below, the party was EPIC. The band was incredible. Almost everyone was on the dance floor. Carly killed it on the mic. And, most importantly, everyone was having an absolute blast. This was a wedding for the books. I’m so thankful to have been a part of it.

Special shoutout to Michelle Saabas for planning, coordinating, and styling the wedding. Excellent work.
